Patients appreciate that at the same time our practice offers progressive, sometimes breakthrough procedures, there's also much attention placed on the uniqueness of each person's condition. That is why the physicians in our group participate in daily peer review sessions of numerous patients' cases to arrive at the best possible treatment options. It is also why our office staff goes to great lengths to assure patients' appointments are scheduled promptly, financial issues are handled smoothly and questions about care are addressed with understanding. Since we realize an individual's primary physician knows a patient's medical history in-depth, our physicians also work closely with referring physicians to ensure we are aware of a person's medical and surgical needs. We communicate regularly with primary physicians regarding diagnosis and treatment and make certain patients are referred back to their primary physicians when our portion of the care is complete.

Finally, our mission compels us to become involved in clinical research and investigations which advance medical and surgical knowledge. Not only do Norfolk Surgical Group physicians regularly publish in national medical journals and speak at conferences nationwide, we teach medical students, residents and surgical fellows the art, science and hands-on techniques of general, thoracic, colon-rectal, and oncologic surgical services. Norfolk Surgical Group's physicians are all certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery.
